Are others benefiting from your leadership?
Suzanne Bristol Dear Subscribers and Guests; John Maxwell coined the phrase "True leadership must be for the benefit of the followers, not to enrich the leader." In this month's newsletter we address the difference between managing projects and leading people, along with the subject of owners and developers who hire construction management professionals and hinder their success. Personally, I know how difficult leading, trusting and waiting on others can be. I have learned through painstaking practice, firsthand as a leader and from my leadership coaches, that my job (with the right hires) is to set realistic expectations, budgets and timeframes, obtain buy-in, and provide accountability through communication milestones. When this happens then everyone succeeds. We included some tips on behavioral hiring to help you identify people that are coachable, trainable and trustworthy. Are you benefiting others with your leadership? Please take time to comment on our articles written just for you Construction and Development! Always here to listen and help.
